OHLand’s fearless Red Carpet maven, Cine Mata, managed to corner Paulette Reynolds, staff writer, editor, and publisher of Outside Hollywoodland, for an exclusive interview.
Cine Mata (CM): “Paulette – darling! We finally meet!”
Paulette Reynolds (PR): “Um, yes, Cine – I can spare a few moments ---“
CM: “Oh, don’t be so shy, now, Paulette! OHLand readers want to know ALL about you! Where do I begin – Ah, yes, how did you happen to create this incredibly marvelous film fan publication?”
PR: “Well, Cine, Outside Hollywoodland first began in 2002, as a small cinema blog, and as you know, Life does happen---“
CM: “Yes! You don’t have to tell me dear Paulette, about Life! As I was saying to Joanie just the other day…”
PR: “Joan Rivers! How is she?”
CM: “Why sweetie, she’s absolutely on top, now that she’s dropped the red carpet gig. Really, E! does such a tacky job of it ---oh, Paulette, aren’t you the sly fox? Now where were we?”
PR: (laughing) “Ok, OHLand was re-launched in 2009, as an online film fan publication – sigh, doesn’t that sound grand?”
CM: “Better than MGM! Tell OHLanders – how do you go about writing all those lovely film reviews and commentaries – not to mention the faux interviews – except mine, of course!”
PR: “It’s one review at a time, Cine. And I must say, it’s established Hollywood personalities like you that keeps me inspired to go on.”
CM: “Ah, dear – flattery gets you everything! Now, your background …?”
PR: “Let’s just say I’ve been a confirmed cinephile since I could first turn on a television set
and view the opening film credits to a Shirley Temple classic, “Rebecca of Sunnybrook Farm”.”
CM: “Goodness! You do go back! So would you describe yourself as a film expert?”
PR: “I leave that grand title to the veteran Hollywood film critics.”
CM: “Confess, Paulette – don’t you just love the red carpet shows?”
PR: “I do - it’s the highlight of the year! The stars, the drama, the clothes, and
the attitude – yes, Hollywood’s award season is just as spectacular as any Hollywood production.”
CM: “Oh- there’s Melissa Rivers, whining about her mother again! I must dash, dear. And I know I speak for all OHLand fans when I say – keep up the good work!”
PR: “Thanks Cine---“ (to the reader) “She’s off and so am I – I just hope that you enjoy reading Outside Hollywoodland
